Pinto –
Best sardines I tasted. Are they available in Mississauga, Canada? Any stores or supermarkets stock these in Mississauga, ON., Canada?

Berto Carduus –
For me, it has always been my favourite canned sardines… When I cannot find them, I buy cans labeled Cocagne here in Brussels… I only consume sardines prepared in olive oil… I thought that they were also very good…! And, until a few days ago, I did not know that Cocagne is the branding in Belgium for my favourite “Ramirez” sardines…! Amazing and great news…! I noticed some cans stating “Sardines Sauvage (wild)”… I thought that all sardines were wild… So, I’m wondering what is the difference with other cans that are not specifically label “wild”…
Is there such a think as “sardine farms”…?
Thank you for taking the time to answer my query and please continue to make this simple but magic food…!
I hope to come and visit you as soon as conditions are possible…
Take care and best regards,
Berto Carduus
Carla Ferreira (store manager) –
Dear Mr. Carduus,
First of all thank you for being a loyal customer of our brands, Ramirez and Cocagne. In fact quality is our main drive!
Cocagne is being sold in Belgium since 1906 and, nowadays, we are market leaders in sardines.
Please note that all sardines are wild and there aren´t “sardines farms”. The designation “Sardines Sauvages” / “Wild Sardines” is commercial and our aim is to better inform the consumer highlighting even further the quality of the fish.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
You are more than welcomed, so when visiting Porto please give us a call.
Thank you again and regards
